Football predictions explained: odds, chances and community picks
Every 1x2.social match page shows a prediction: the odds with the bookmaker margin removed, turned into home, draw and away chances, plus how the community is picking it. Here's how to read it — and what it can't tell you.
Predictions are estimates, not advice. No real money is involved anywhere on 1x2.social. 18+.
From odds to chances
Decimal odds imply a probability: 1 ÷ odds. Odds of 2.00 imply a 50% chance; 1.25 implies 80%. Our predictions hub does this for every upcoming game in the big European leagues, for home, draw and away separately — so you see the market's honest estimate at a glance. New to the formats? Odds explained.
The margin bookmakers keep
Bookmaker odds for the three outcomes always add up to more than 100% — typically 105–110%. That extra is the margin (overround): the bookmaker's cut. We strip it out before showing chances, so the three numbers sum to 100% and you see the underlying estimate, not the padded price.
What community picks add
Every match page also shows how the 1x2.social community is picking it: the share on 1, X and 2. The market and the crowd disagree surprisingly often — and disagreement is information. A side the crowd loves that the odds don't can mean hype; a side the odds love that the crowd ignores can mean value. Either way, check the reasoning on the picks themselves, and the records of the tipsters making them.
What predictions can't do
- They can't see team news first. A late injury changes everything; chances are a snapshot, not a live feed.
- Favourites still lose. An 80% chance means one in five loses. Short odds are not safe odds.
- They're the market, not an edge. The odds already contain everything public. Beating them needs a genuine angle — see how to find tipsters who have one.

How are 1x2.social football predictions made?

Do high-percentage predictions always win?
No. An 80% prediction loses one time in five on average. Predictions describe likelihood, not certainty — never treat them as guaranteed, and never bet money you can't afford to lose.
